Job Description
To work as part of the psychological therapy leadership team to ensure the implementation of psychological and trauma informed understanding of offender mental health and personality presentation. To draw on a range of psychological theories including attachment, trauma and adversity and how this is linked to offender mental health.
To complete assessments, formulations and make recommendations for ongoing support, care and management of service user psychological health and well-being.
To provide consultation, advice and support based on developed formulations and psychological information.
To provide supervision and leadership across the Health and Justice network.
To provide training and formulation support to MHIT and HMPPS staff.
To support the development of psychologically informed ways of working and to work collaboratively with others to implement this.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work with individual service users presenting to the mental health inreach service to support psychological health and well-being.
To complete detailed and thorough psychological assessments, formulations and intervention.
To provide consultation and advice and contribute to the MDT psychological understanding of service users.
To support the development of psychologically informed ways of working.
To work within a supervisory and consultancy capacity across the H&J network.
To provide training, supervision, reflective practice and formulation support across the network.
To work closely with the Consultant clinical psychologist in ensuring the wider psychological therapy workforce development is optimised and to contribute to wider understanding of psychological informed ways of working.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered psychologist / therapist or specialist nurse at Msc or above
- Post qualification specialist training
Desirable criteria
- Qualification in leadership and management
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with a range of service users presenting with complexity and risk
- Experience of providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention
- Experience of providing leadership and supervision
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a prison environment
