Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Scanning and uploading of documentation onto RiO (clinical record keeping)
  • Keeping patient information (demographics) up to date on RiO
  • Inputting of data onto RiO
  • Scanning, uploading and processing of new referrals onto RiO
  • Collecting post from nearby postroom. date stamping and uploading to RiO
  • Arranging and cancellation of appointments on clinician's diaries on RiO
  • Answering the telephone, taking messages and forwarding to clinicians as appropriate
  • Filing of documents as appropriate
  • Some Minute taking may be required

Person specificationSkills and AbilitiesEssential criteria

  • A - C grade in GCSE English and Mathematics
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Packages
  • A good telephone manner with the ability to stay calm in challenging situations

Desirable criteria
  • RSQ 2 or NVQ 2 in Administration
  • Working in a health care environment with patient contact


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • Experience of working with computerised data systems and inputting of data
  • Experience of meeting patients face to face and ability to stay calm in challenging situations
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft word and ability to type accurately and to Trust standards
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using RIO
  • Experience of working on reception in a healthcare environment preferably NHS

Induction.
