Job Description
The Senior Sexual Health Nurse post/s also require post holder/s to work and lead effectively (in collaboration with the consultant) amongst a multidisciplinary team e.g., working as designated Lab Nurse Coordinator (nurse in charge). This is where your strong practice, organisation and prioritisation skills will contribute to coordinating a safe and effective shift.
As a Band 6 nurse within the sexual health service, you will work in a busy integrated sexual health environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will assess, plan and deliver all aspects of sexual health care and will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake duties concurrent with this level of seniority from the list below; in line with Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and NICE guidance

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration nursing experience
- Experience working within integrated sexual healthcare
Desirable criteria
- Experience of instruction and assessing in clinical practice
- Experience of leading or managing a team
- Experience of working with all age groups, genders and sexualities
- Experience of working in abortion services
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to run nurse led clinics
- Able to work effectively as a competent autonomous practitioner
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a caring and empathetic approach and a non-judgmental attitude
- Able to formulate and carry out clinical decisions and sometimes complex treatment plans - independent of medical practitioners
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Able to undertake advanced practice procedures and tasks
Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Integrated Sexual Healthcare Qualifications e.g. University module/BASHH/FSRH qualifications
- Evidence of continuing professional development
