• To support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
• To support and assist Child development Workers as required
• To participate in the development of skill mix staff within the Health Visiting Service
• To participate in Health Education programmes and health promotion activities on a multi disciplinary basis as agreed with the team.
• To lead on the immunisation for children under the age of 5 and the delivery of the BCG program in St Thomas' hospital and other acute settings as required

Qualifications
Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current NMC registration
• Evidence of current Professional updating
• Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable criteria

• Mentorship Qualification
• RSCN

Experience
Essential criteria

• Post registration nursing experience
• Understanding of Clinical Governance
• Demonstrate keen interest in public health and working in the community
• Experience of delivering Health Promotion

Desirable criteria

• Experience working with children
• Experience working in the community

Skills/ Abilities
Essential criteria

• Able to assess and implement different packages of care
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Safeguarding Children
• Ability to communicate both verbally and writing with team members, children and families and other professionals
• Ability to Use Microsoft Applications (Word and Excel)
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Risk Assessment
• Ability to immunise safely child
• Able to travel across a range of community settings with equipment and mobile devices
• Ability to work on own initiative and seek support as required
• Evidence of being a team player and able to work collaboratively

Desirable criteria

• Ability to facilitate group work with parents
