Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria

• • RN (Adult) or RN(Child)
• • Core post-registration emergency Nursing Education (Acutely unwell Adult or Child, Emergency Practice or equivalent).
• • Practice supervisor & assessor
• • BSc or evidence of study at level 6 with ability to complete BSc
• • Safeguarding level 3
• • ATNC, ETC or equivalent (or able to undertake within 6 months)
• • ALS

Desirable criteria

• • APLS
• • MSc or evidence of study at level 7.

Experience

Essential criteria

• • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience; at least 4 years within the specialty.
• • Experience of managing a team.

Desirable criteria

• • Experience of audit and/research

Skills

Essential criteria

• • Well-developed leadership skills.
• • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload and workload of others
• • Demonstrates good written & verbal. communication skills
• • Demonstrates effective teaching skills
• • Work confidentially within all areas of the ED

Desirable criteria

• • Management course

Essential criteria

• • Enthusiasm for specialty
