Job Description


This is an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager to join a highly skilled multi discipline team working in a private high dependency rehabilitation service based in Birmingham. Caring for both males and females in separate units with enduring mental health conditions and personality disorder.

As a Deputy Ward Manager

  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience
  • Rota Management for all nursing and care staff
  • Arrange clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
  • Manage the clinical team identifying areas for improvement and acting on them
  • Recognises positive performance
  • Acts as a highly visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning,
  • Ensure high levels of care and compliance.
  • Management of care plans
  • Responsible for nurse recruitment
  • Develop strong relationships with clinical and non clinical staff inside and outside the hospital

What we want to see on your cv -

  • You must be registered with the NMC
  • 2 years' experience working in a Senior Nursing role
  • Experience working with secure or locked mental health
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of clinical audit and/ or service improvement based on evidence desirable
