Job Description

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Lead will be responsible for the clinical leadership of the Northwest MMN providing strategic leadership to support the development of an effective, high quality, multi-agency/ disciplinary MMN for the Northwest.

The Clinical lead will lead support the strategic development of the Maternal Medicine Centres (MMCs) and specialist services throughout the region by building a commitment to partnership working and improving the alignment of services.

Potential candidates should note the requirement of the role to work from home and travel across the region and ensure applications confirm it is understood.

Person specification

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Fellow or Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or the Royal College of Physicians.
  • CCT or equivalent in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine or a medical specialty.


Desirable criteria
  • ATSM in Maternal Medicine or RCP post CCT credential in obstetric medicine.


Knowledge \\ Experience
Essential criteria
  • In depth additional expert knowledge acquired over a significant period in Maternal Medicine.
  • Membership and attendance at national conferences in maternal medicine / obstetric medicine such as UK MacDonald Obstetr
