As a Higher MLA (Band 3) you will be involved in all aspects of reception and cut up room duties relevent to the grade. In addtioin you will be involved in specimen embedding and microtomy duties and you will also have some responsibility for supervising and training Medical Laboratory Assistants. Qualifications
Essential criteria

• Numerate and literate (minimum 4 GCSE’s, or equivalent, incl. Maths, English & a Science)
• Knowledge and practical skills at NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Work Experience
Essential criteria

• Experience of laboratory working
• Knowledge of H&S within the laboratory
• Knowledge of protocols and SOP's used in the department

Desirable criteria

• Experience of embedding and microtomy
• Experience of working in a Histology laboratory

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria

• Good interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
• Experience of team working

Desirable criteria

• Supervisory experience
