Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • •IAPT qualification in Low Intensity interventions


Desirable criteria
  • •Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ
  • •A qualification or substantial experience in Professional Supervision


Experience
Essential criteria
  • •Significant experience of working with people with common mental health problems in an IAPT setting
  • •Ability to demonstrate a range of post-qualifying experiences in offering and delivering a full range of evidence-based IAPT low intensity interventions
  • •Experience of screening, assessing and working with a wide range of mental health issues at step 2.
  • •Experience of working with and manging risk.


Desirable criteria
  • Experience in drug/alcohol management.
  • Experience of supervising others within a therapy setting of helping profession such a social work nursing.
  • Experience of dealing with clients whose children are subject to Child Protection legislation.
  • Substantial experience of multi-disciplinary teamwork
  • Experience of "Partnership working".
  • Experience of audit and research.
  • Experience of and ability to provide mentor/supervisor role.


Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • •Significant evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients within IAPT at step 2
  • •Detailed understanding of clinical governance and its application in practice.
  • •Detailed understanding of Clinical Risk assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • •Understanding pf psychological models of care and treatment.


Desirable criteria
  • Able to work through interpreters.
  • An awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, Bi-polar).
  • Evidence of further training in psychological interventions/therapy.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection Policies.
