HCA | Theatres | Full time | 37.5 hours per week | Permanent | Edinburgh | Salary DOE

Spire Shawfair Park Hospital are looking for a HCA to join our fantastic Theatre team. This role will allow you to gain experience in a surgical environment while being part of a great team. The successful candidate will be required to work various shifts including weekends, please do not apply if you are not able to commit to this.

Murrayfield hospital was established as a purpose built hospital in 1984, conveniently located in the west of Edinburgh. In 2015 our consulting rooms had a £1 million refurbishment. In 2010 we opened Shawfair Park Hospital, based in south east Edinburgh. Each of our hospitals practice some of the most advanced treatments supported by the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading edge surgical procedures and cancer care.

Duties and responsibilities

Working as part of our theatre team you will be providing a caring support service to our patients. This will include assisting the Nurses during procedures, transporting patients to and from the ward and opening sterile packs. You will ensure instruments are prepared and ready before procedures and assist with the cleanliness and maintenance of the theatres.

Who we're looking for

• You will need to have experience in a Care role within a hospital
• Ideally you will have NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care
• Someone who excels in customer service and has a caring demeanour
• Experience working in Theatres would be a benefit but not a necessity
