Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Main duties
  • Proactively contribute to the achievement of positive clinical outco This will include conducting evaluations using clinical outcome measures and satisfaction surveys.
  • Communicate effectively with children and young people, relatives/carers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a manner that is sensitive, open, welcoming and person-ce
  • Use IT systems effectivel
  • Maintain accurate, up to date clinical records in accordance with Trust policy.


Working as part of a Team
  • Effectively communicate with other disciplines/agencies/patients and carers. \u00b7 Provide support and leadership to Neurodevelopment Team.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all colleagues to ensure professional standards are met.
  • Participate in the appraisal process.


Managing Self
  • Participate in regular management and clinical supervision.
  • Seek advice and support from Team/Clinical Lead
  • Participate in appraisal annually, developing and agreeing your development plan with your line manager using the Trust appraisal and KSF process.
  • Responsible for identifying areas for own professional development.
  • Keep up to date with latest clinical developments, NICE guidance and research evidence.
  • Attend all mandatory training.
  • Maintain registration as a qualified health professional.
  • Maintain accreditation with relevant governing body.
  • Carry out duties with due regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunity Policy.
  • Comply with all Trust policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Pay regard to materials and equipment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.


Staff Supervision and Support
  • Monitor practice and development of therapists, as appropriate reporting to Team/Clinical Lead for service governance
  • Assist in induction of staff.
  • Participate in the training of therapists and other professionals.

Person specification

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • SLT with relevant degree
  • Membership of HCPC
  • Evidence of successful completion/on going undertaking specialist short course/ training up to master's degree equivalent Membership of relevant Clinical Excellence network


Desirable criteria
  • Leadership training


Experience
Essential criteria
  • 2 Per Years Post qualification experience within a mental health setting


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of child and adolescent mental health


Skills
Essential criteria
  • Ability to keep clear records and to write reports


Desirable criteria
  • Ability to contribute to a health-based, multi-disciplinary team
