Job Description

This team Leader role is based in Trafford Hospital, part of the WTWA hospital group within Manchester Foundation Trust. The role will cover several specialties, including, Orthopaedics, General theatres, ENT, Renal, Peadiatrics, Dental, Pain. Have a wide variety of orthopaedic procedures and work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for an experienced & enthusiastic Band 6 practitioner to join our dynamic team.Shift patterns are generally between the hours of 8am and 730pm.

We deliver an excellent supernumerary orientation and induction Programme for all our new starters, individually tailored to your current level of knowledge and experience. We provide in-house support for all staff through the support of experienced scrub practitioners and in-house Practice Based Educator (PBE).

Post-holders will also have access to the LEAD Training Programme, a unique and innovative concept to develop skill sets, which brings together all of the education and training activities of the hospital under one umbrella. We have an in-house mentorship Programme in place affiliated to a well-known university and CPD courses to aid in your development in your role as a practitioner within the organisation.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Qualification in O.D.P. or RGN
  • Scrub Qualification
  • Diploma educated
  • Teaching and assessing qualification.


Desirable criteria
  • Recognised management qualification
  • Minium 2 years post registration experince


Experience
Essential criteria
  • Minimum of two years recent experience in Scrub role in different specialities
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Documented evidence of a wide range of theatre skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a mindset that embraces change as an opportunity.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to organise and prioritise workload.


We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85 (enhanced disclosure) which will be deducted from salary, in the first 3 months of employment. If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
