An exciting opportunity has arisen within MFT, for a dynamic, driven, and conscientious Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse to deliver care to patient with diabetes in the South Manchester and Altrincham areas. As part of this service the diabetes nurse specialist will monitor and improve standards of care through, supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence-based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. As part of this developing role the post holder will work closely with a team of diabetes nurse specialists working across 4 sites

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who can drive improvement and support development of the existing service . The successful candidate will work alongside a team of Nurse Specialists, consultants and other Allied Health professionals within the Diabetes multidisciplinary team at Wythenshawe, Withington, Trafford and Altrincham Hospitals The successful applicant will be a valued member of the MDT and work within the acute and community setting to deliver nurse led clinics, The post holder will work within the values and beliefs of MFT to ensure a high quality, efficient and caring service is delivered. The post holder will be committed to providing high quality care to patients and helping them to make the right decisions about their treatment options, with the skills to guide and advise them throughout their treatment journey, this role could be for you

The post holder must demonstrate excellent knowledge of new diabetes technology including insulin pumps and CGM systems etc.

They should be able to demonstrate leadership skills and be an excellent communicator with a solution focused personality. The post holder will have undertaken a non-medical prescribing module .

We will also ensure that you have tailored, individual personal development plans with support for further training.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85 (enhanced disclosure) which will be deducted from salary, in the first 3 months of employment. If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
