Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £40.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.
A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers taking up substantive employment with the Trust.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • •Registered nurse with significant previous experience. •Evidence of maintaining a portfolio in accordance with revalidation requirements.

Desirable criteria
  • •Recent experience as a band 6. •Introduction to Management course. •Evidence of a teaching/mentoring qualification. •Degree.


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • •Sound clinical practice in patient care. •Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles. •Accept personal accountability for own practice. •Experience of formal/informal teaching. •Experience in managing and leading a team.


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • •Commitment to and evidence of professional and personal development.


SkillsEssential criteria
  • •Capable of working as an integral member of small teams. •Ability to undertake teaching of staff and patients. •Leadership skills.

Desirable criteria
  • •Audit and presentation skills.

  • •The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent. •The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. •To act in a professional manner at all times in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.
