Clinical | Educator | Training | Registered Nurse | Brentwood | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week | Band 7 equivalent

Duties and responsibilities

The Clinical Practice Educator will work collaboratively with the senior Nurses as well as other clinical areas within hospital to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care.

This is an exciting opportunity, for an enthusiastic individual with a passion in education, who is keen to develop their teaching skills, whilst having a positive impact on patient care.

You will lead the continuing education, training and professional development for the nursing staff to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. You will work closely with the clinical leads to develop and drive forward an education programme to ensure that nursing staff acquire the professional standards and competencies needed to deliver patient care. Your role will be key in the promotion of reflective practice, clinical supervision and experiential learning opportunities whilst developing a learning culture.

We are looking for someone with a passion for education and learning, we are open to flexible working. You will be working within a supportive team, with access to preceptorship and clinical supervision.
  • You provide clinical leadership and training clinical education across the hospital.
  • You will contribute to staff development through the hospital appraisal/ personal development plan.
  • You will assist the sister/charge nurse with identification and provision of learning needs of staff.
  • You will ensure all CPE duties within the hospital are performed effectively and in a timely manner by monitoring the quality of care delivered and taking necessary action to ensure excellence in nursing practice.
  • Provides advice and guidance on education pathways within the hospital.
  • Work collaboratively with other divisional CPE's for Spire.

Who we are looking for:
  • Safeguarding Level 3 training (training can be sourced to support this area if not experienced)
  • Male/female catheterisation
  • Phlebotomy and venesection
  • Clinical skills training - ANTT, fluid balance, competencies etc
  • Revalidation (NMC) sign off and practice discussions
  • HCA development and support
  • Overseas, Preceptorship and Apprenticeship nursing development and support
