Band 5 Staff Nurse

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, dedicated and highly motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Gynaecology and Breast Women’s Health nursing team at University College London Hospital T07 South. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine enthusiasm in caring for women undergoing all aspects of gynaecological and breast care. Although previous experience working in in this speciality is not essential, you should hold a passion for women’s health nursing.

We are a 13 bedded female acute and surgical Women’s Health ward caring for patients undergoing oncology and benign gynaecology and breast surgery. These include
  • Hysterectomy/Salpingo-oopherectomy (oncology and benign)
  • Interval debulking surgery (oncology)
  • Vulvectomy (oncology)
  • Cystectomy (oncology and benign)
  • Node dissection/Nodal debulking (oncology)
  • Myomectomy (benign)
  • Urogynaecology surgery (benign)
  • Resection of Endometriosis (benign)
  • Breast mastectomy and reconstruction (Oncology)

Additionally, we work very closely with Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Service and Early Pregnancy Unit. As a Band 5 Nurse, you would be working alongside a supportive and committed multi-disciplinary team. There will be opportunities for you to develop and expand within your role. We deliver high quality individualistic patient care and would be supported in patient’s management to ensure we deliver high quality holistic care.

Excellent communication skills, a friendly approachable nature and an ability to manage your own workload are required. Previous gynaecology experience is preferable however training and support will also be provided. Our ward has a dedicated nurse educator who provides a training/induction programme for all new staff.
