Job Description

Registered Nurse ( RGN / RMN / RNLD ) - Acquired Brain Injury and Complex Care - An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified and/or experienced registered nurse or preceptorship nurse registered adult nurse ( RGN ), registered mental health nurse ( RMN ) or registered learning disability nurse ( RNLD ) to work within a very positive, friendly and Acquired Brain Injury ( ABI ) Rehabilitation Care Centre situated in Southport, Merseyside. The service has a very positive and supportive work environment with a brilliant long-standing team. The culture of the care centre is very team orientated and the Managers have an open-door policy and are very approachable and respectful; everyone's contribution is valued. They are very big on staff development and training. They have an extremely high staff to patient ratio and they have enhanced care including 1:1 on pretty much all of the units. They also have a buddy system where you will have an experienced mentor for support if you would like it when you join the team.

Location: Southport, Merseyside

Salary: £16.00 per hour (£32,032 per annum)

Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours are available - you can choose depending on your preference (options of: 11 hours, 22 hours and 38.5 hours)

Shifts : Options of Days only ( 8am - 8pm ) or Nights only ( 8pm - 8am ) or Mixed shifts on a rotational basis - you can choose depending on your preference

Service Details: This Service provides care for patients with a physical disability as a result of an acquired brain injury (ABI) or progressive neurological condition (PNC), learning disability, or mental illness associated with conditions such as epilepsy.

The Service is split into four 8 bed units. They have two high dependency units downstairs and two rehab units upstairs.

Their four separate specialist areas are:
  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Learning disability
  • Mental illness
  • Physical disabilities (resulting from any of the above)

Training / Induction and opportunities for development and progression: The Care Centre offers a structured and thorough 2-week induction programme, which will include various training courses. You will also have access to clear and structured development programmes where you can see clear pathways to progression within the care centre. Training and development is one of the major ethos' of the care centre. There are no limits to training and development as the care centre will fund any training course you would like to do that is relevant to your job role.

Preceptorship Programme: In the case of newly qualified nurses ( Adult Nurse, Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse ), the Hospital offers a fantastic preceptorship programme. They have a good number of experienced staff to support and mentor newly qualified nurses.
