Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £40.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria
  • •Registered nurse, AHP, therapist or trial co-ordinator. •Evidence of continuous professional development •Post registration qualification in speciality or willingness to complete

Desirable criteria
  • •Degree •Post graduate qualification •Research Module


ExperienceEssential criteria
  • •Relevant clinical experience at Band 5 or above •Experience of formal/informal teaching •Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable criteria
  • •Experience of working in a clinical research environment e.g. Clinical Trials, participant recruitment and interviewing •Experience of co-ordinating REC and HRA submissions


KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • •Knowledge of clinical research infrastructure in the UK and of research related legislation & regulation •Understand the structure, role & functions of RECs and R&D departments •Understanding of the requirements of ICH Good Clinical Practice; possess current GCP Certificate •Knowledge of the role of the clinical research nurse; understanding the issues/process of gaining informed consent •Basic knowledge of research methods

Desirable criteria
  • •Capable of writing reports and of presenting research related information to a wide audience •Competent in research/database PC packages


SkillsEssential criteria
  • •Good verbal and written communication skills
