Job Description

Ward Manager ( RMN / RNLD ) - An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered mental health nurse ( RMN ) or registered learning disability nurse ( RNLD ) to take on a lead and managers role within a positive, friendly and supportive mental health hospital in Newbury, Berkshire. The Hospital has a very positive and supportive work environment with a brilliant long-standing team. The culture of the hospital is very team orientated and the Managers have an open-door policy and are very approachable and respectful; everyone's contribution is valued. Their recent CQC rating was GOOD.

Location: Newbury, Berkshire

Salary: £42,587 per annum ( £21.80 per hour ) plus £2,200 location allowance & £1,000 forensic allowance

Bonus: £3,000 welcome bonus paid in two instalments (£1,500 paid in first pay cheque and £1,500 paid at 6 months)

Hours: Full Time, Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm

Hospital Details: The Hospital offers a seamless integral pathway support and empowering service users in their recovery and rehabilitation. The medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as their psychiatric intensive care units ( PICU) are all set within 21 acres in the Berkshire countryside. They provide comprehensive personalised assessment and treatment programmes for men with mental illness / complex care needs as well as those with a personality disorder. Service Users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.

Training / Induction and opportunities for development and progression: The hospital offers a structured and thorough 2-week induction programme for all staff nurses, which will include various training courses. You will also have access to clear and structured development programmes where you can see clear pathways to progression within the hospital. Training and development is one of the major ethos' of the hospital. There are no limits to training and development as the hospital will fund any training course you would like to do that is relevant to your job role.

Staff wellbeing: The hospital has a monthly staff wellbeing budget and regularly host wellbeing events for their staff. For example, next month a massage therapist is coming into the hospital for 3 days to give massages to nurses for free. The hospital also does regular breakfast mornings, whereby the hospital director comes round with bacon / sausage butties or Krispy Kreme's for all staff. The hospital also does monthly and quarterly staff raffles - some of the recent prizes have been 'a city break for two' or '£1,500 worth of holiday vouchers'.
