It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care. HMP Whatton is a Category C men's prison, located in the village of Whatton, near Bingham in Nottinghamshire. With an operational capacity of 800, HMP Whatton is based approximately 20 minutes of Grantham, 25 minutes of Newark, 30 minutes from Nottingham and Melton Mowbray, 45 minutes from Lincoln and 50 minutes of Derby by car. To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Whatton we’re looking for a Mental Health Nurse to support us.

We could give you the opportunity to develop in to a specialist role of your interest and benefit to the service i.e. CBT, ANP, BBV, sexual health, ILS (intermediate life support), health promotion, RCGP and long term condition courses.

In return for your hard work you will..

The full-time role will be working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis across 7 days. The salary for this role is up to £38,000 per annum FTE - dependent on experience. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, increasing with service up to 28 days per year, plus 8 public bank holidays and CPD and re-validation support. Other benefits include cycle to work scheme plus training and clinical development opportunities.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is up to £38,000 - dependent on experience. You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing are desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided.
