The Operational Team Lead will provide operational management, leadership and expertise to a multi professional, specialist perinatal mental health team who often work alone to ensure the timely delivery of a safe and effective service to the locality for women aged 18 and over and their families who are experiencing significant perinatal mental health difficulties.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
• Be responsible for ensuring a regular process of review is in place to detect incidents that indicate adverse quality of care, and triangulate.
• Manages 15 staff, including IPR/KSF management, disciplinary issues, grievance issues etc. • Expected to implement policies as directed by the trust/directorate for the department, ensuring awareness throughout the department.
• Is aware of the purpose of the service, the targets set and leads the team to meet its objectives
• Understands staff engagement and supports engagement activities
• Ensures team members have a clear understanding of policies and procedures and the importance of putting them into practice.
• Contributes to compliance assessments with the essential standards of quality and safety as set by the CQC and CCQI
• Reviews performance of team and celebrates success
• Ensures incidents are reported when they occur and communicates learning from these with the team
• Expects all individual staff to maintain a satisfactory standard of performance and if failing takes appropriate action for improvement ie initiates stage 1 (informal) capability policy

To ensure systems and processes exist to support staff performance in accordance with Trust objectives
To report on and contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and audit of the performance and clinical practice of the perinatal service
To liaise with and work collaboratively with other directorates to promote the interface between the Perinatal Mental Health Community Service (PMHCS), Adult Acute and Community Mental Health services to enhance the patient experience and recovery
To work in close collaboration with the Mother & Baby Unit

- NMC First Level Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist
- Preparation of Mentors post-registration qualification / ENB 998 or Equivalent Mentor Qualification
- Specialist training eg. Psychosocial interventions, family work/interventions.

- Have a minimum of three years' experience as a registered practitioner band 6 or above
- Experience of working in perinatal mental health care
- Experience of managing people
