The Health and Social Care Sector covers a wide range of occupational areas and settings. The Health and Social Care profession is all about meeting people’s needs and providing appropriate care for them so that they can lead as full and active lives as is possible.
The Curriculum Centre has a long established partnership with employers in the local area, and once enrolled of a health and social care course you will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of work placements in the areas identified above. This will give you the opportunity to build on your existing knowledge and experience, and to develop understanding and confidence in dealing with people in different settings across the sector.
As a Centre of Vocational Excellence for its work in health and social care, you can expect to receive the highest standards of teaching and support from a highly qualified and committed team of lecturers. At the last Ofsted Inspection (February 2006) the Health and Social Care provision within the curriculum centre was judged to be outstanding, where learners work well together in lessons and ‘make excellent progress relative to their prior attainment’.
