Sheffield, Yorkshire
School of Nursing and Midwifery

The School of Nursing and Midwifery was established in 1995 following integration of the Sheffield and North Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery into the University of Sheffield.

The School´s Continuing Professional Development and postgraduate courses are all delivered from the Centre for Health and Social Care Studies and Service Development, which is also the focus of the University´s nursing and midwifery research activity. In addition, the Centre provides education, training and consultancy services to the health and social care sectors in support of workforce and organisational development.

The Centre continues the School of Nursing and Midwifery´s long-established and successful role in providing education that supports service and practice development, offers choice and flexibility and develops practitioners as informed, confident, critical thinkers who are able to effectively engage in and influence practice and work across professional and organisational boundaries.
