The Faculty of Health, Life & Social Sciences is dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities in a vibrant and supportive learning environment. The Faculty encompasses 3 schools; Health and Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Nursing, Midwifery and Social Care

A wide range of subjects are available for study including psychology, herbal medicine, sport and exercise science, toxicology, biomedical science, animal biology, and environmental science. And not only are we the largest provider of nursing and midwifery professionals in Scotland, we also offer a veterinary nursing training facility. Many unique programmes such as ecotourism and forensic biology reflect our commitment to providing innovative education opportunities relevant to the changing needs of our society.

We have more than 300 staff, over 4,000 students and provide world-class teaching and research facilities. A new initiative of the Faculty is the Applied Research Centre for Health, Environment & Society, bringing together researchers from all schools, and a range of collaborators, to pursue multidisciplinary research activities.
