Manchester Metropolitan University
The Faculty´s programmes prepare students for their future professional lives and there is added depth to the student experience in that multi-professional links across the various subject disciplines mirror those which graduates will experience in employment. The freshness and vibrancy of the programmes are achieved by academic staff´s regular engagement with the agencies and organisations providing practice placements, by close association with the professional bodies and by the way in which research feeds into teaching.
The Faculty operates on two campuses. Health-related and psychology programmes are based at the Elizabeth Gaskell Campus, whilst social work and social change programmes are located at Didsbury. Students from a broad range of educational and cultural backgrounds are drawn to the warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere which is evident at each site, and to the over-riding ethos of providing education for the "enabling" professions which both informs and is integral to practice.
