Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Department of Health and Social Care

Since its inception in 2004, the Department has developed a reputation for delivering high quality teaching and partnership working across a range of areas, engaging with stakeholders and employers to respond effectively to their needs.

The Department actively encourages widening access and participation, and liaises with schools through information sessions, Open Days and on-campus events. In addition the social work and health programmes take employment-based students from partner agencies, many of whom come from non-traditional academic backgrounds. The Department is one of the most successful in the University in terms of widening participation.
