A key feature of the School is a strong partnership with a range of health and social care agencies. Our teaching has grown out of joint-working with our Partner Trusts and Fellows based in practice environments, to ensure that the professional courses we offer are relevant, timely and equip students with appropriate professional competencies.
We also engage with health and social care issues in our research activities and offer extensive research support to health and social care staff via the Research Development and Support Unit.
We provide pre-registration Masters degrees in Nursing, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, which offer a fast-track accelerated route to the respective qualification. These innovative programmes encourage multidisciplinary working and are at the forefront of training health care professionals. We also offer a range of post-registration professional training programmes at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels.
We also have two foundation degrees, FdSc Health Sciences and FdSc Oral Health Sciences along with four undergraduate degrees, BSc Social Psychology and Sociology, BSc Health Sciences and Health Psychology, BA Health Studies and Sociology and BA Health Studies, all with a strong health theme, offering progression to the fast track MSc's.
The School also hosts a growing number of PhD students with University Scholarships available for exceptional Postgraduate students.
