About mental nurse jobs
There are many jobs for Mental Nurses around the country in both the NHS and Private sectors. Mental health patients are cared for in specialised units within a hospital or home or in specialised homes depending on the level of care required. Some patients can also be cared for on an outpatient basis with nurses visiting them in their homes in the community.
Mental Nurse Jobs include:
- Home Manager – which involves taking responsibility for providing a safe and secure environment for residents in a Care Home. This includes recruiting, training, monitoring and managing nursing and caring staff; auditing and assessing resident care; formulating and managing budgets; marketing the home; and liaising with other medical professionals, partners, family and friends of the residents and the community.
- Deputy Home Manager – supporting the Home Manager in all the duties above
- Unit Manager – where you will be taking responsibility for managing a Mental Health Unit either in a Private or NHS Care Home or Hospital.
- RMN – who will take responsibility and leadership for a team of nurses and carers within a ward or unit, ensuring the highest standard of care is provided to each resident/patients whilst retaining their individuality and dignity
- Senior Mental Health Nurses, Staff Nurses and Assistant Nurses who make up the team actually providing the day to day care for the resident/patient
- Community RMNs and Nurses providing assistance within the community and the patient’s own home.
Mental Nurse Jobs require appropriate qualifications and active registration and a personality that has a passion for caring for people with mental health issues. You will need good communication skills, a sense of humour and be able to be flexible yet firm.
