St Andrew's jobs
At St Andrew’s we have been providing mental healthcare for 175 years and we believe everyone should be treated as an individual, so whether you are a specialist nurse, or someone with ambitions to become one, you will experience an interesting and rewarding career along every stage of your journey.
Our focus at St Andrew’s is to become a world-class leader in the field of mental healthcare. We are a non-profit organisation and we reinvest any surplus we make into our services.
Experts in mental healthcare
As a charity, we are a truly unique organisation and one that works in partnership with the NHS, yet still takes its own individual approach to mental healthcare. Our work provides specialist services, and is motivated by reinvesting our surplus back into the Charity. It all helps to ensure that we choose the best possible approach to caring for our service users and are able to design our own processes and work innovatively with our service users.
Over the years, this way of working has seen us develop into a major presence in the world of mental healthcare. Building on an ambitious 10-year plan for growth, we now have more than 4,000 people working across our sites in Northampton, Essex, Birmingham and Nottinghamshire.
As you might expect from the leading mental health charity, our services cover a wide range of specialist areas:
• Mental health
• Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Learning disability
• Personality disorder
• Brain injury
• Huntington’s disease
• Specialist dementia
• Young adults
Experts in best practice
At St Andrew’s, you will experience the best of both worlds in mental healthcare. As many of our patients are placed with us through the NHS or local authorities, this means you will have the opportunity to deliver award-winning care to the people who need our help the most.
In fact, as soon as you join our nursing team, you will notice the difference. You will have more time to do what you do best. You will also have lots of opportunities to innovate in your day-to-day job.
At St Andrew’s we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of practice and finding the best healthcare solution for the individual. Indeed, listening and acting on your ideas is just one part of our wider mission and commitments.
We know we can only achieve our goals by constantly innovating, exploring new specialist care pathways and investing in the development of our people. That is why we have made supporting our nursing staff such a priority.
What makes a St Andrew’s Nurse?
Just as our organisation continues to grow, so does our nursing team and the nurses we recruit and how we support them is very important to us. St Andrew’s nurses are already specialists in their own area, or busy training to become one. Now we want all our nurses to be renowned within the mental health sector for being the shining examples in their field.
To help you develop a reputation for world-class expertise, service and care, we invest in helping our nurses develop specialisms that in turn help us to provide outstanding care for our service users and ensure that a St Andrew’s nurse has a truly interesting and rewarding career with us.
If you are ambitious and keen to expand your knowledge, you will enjoy a choice of specialisms that is simply unparalleled.
