We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional Dementia Lead to support our premium luxury retirement villages in delivering our Dementia Strategy, by role modeling, coaching and driving continuous improvement in dementia care. The Dementia Lead will ensure that our villages and care homes are fully aligned with the Bupa Care Services dementia strategy, and act as a true expert in the dementia field. You will keep up to date with all new developments in dementia care and use your knowledge to provide expert guidance for our existing villages and the development of dementia communities at our new-build villages.
This is a home-based national role requiring travel across the UK to our 7 operational villages and some nights away from home.

About the role
To lead the continuous review and development of our dementia strategy, incorporating each care model (independent living, assisted living and care home) and promoting a culture of Person First Dementia Second
Provide innovative and creative solutions for supporting residents within the village community outside of the care home environment
Ensure any changes in dementia practice or regulatory requirements are understood and applied
Link with local dementia forums across Bupa Care Services and Bupa's Head of Dementia, developing a network to share best practice, current thinking and trends
Integrate any actions from the Richmond Villages Dementia Steering Group into practice and support the network of our Dementia Action and Wellbeing Network (DAWN) ambassadors to raise awareness of dementia at each village
Work closely with residents, relatives and staff to listen and learn from their experience and using it to improve dementia care, and work closely with Quality Managers to embed dementia strategy and individual village action plans
Who we're looking for
A Registered Nurse with current valid PIN and a clinical qualification in dementia care.
Strong experience in dementia in a health & social care environment, and care home experience would be an advantage
Up to date with current dementia practice and thinking
A confident, effective communicator, able to manage change, with excellent team working and organisational skills.
Experienced and confident in sharing specialist dementia, aiding the learning and development of staff, and using ability to share learning and inspire others
