Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate must demonstrate passion for delivering exceptional customer service for critical patients. Someone who wants to develop their management skills in a critical care environment and motivated for changes and continued success of the department.
As part of the ICU team, you will have the opportunity to develop your career in supervising, coaching and influencing others.
In order to support these exciting changes in our current and new Intensive Care Units, we are looking for motivated and experienced critical care F grade Staff Nurses to join our international and dynamic team.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to the patients, this to include the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with:
The philosophies of the Clinic/Department
The UKCC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice
The Clinic Policies and Protocols
Skills and Experience
To act as mentor to permanent staff and students, teaching and assessing as appropriate and to assist with the orientation of new staff.
3+ years’ experience working in Intensive Care
Candidates must have ICU Course – minimum 60 credits, teaching and advanced level training courses
To be a member of at least one Clinic forum or committee and to participate in department projects.
To achieve quarterly targets as set by mentor or line manager.
To attend mandatory updates on Adult and Paediatric Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, Defibrillation, Epidural and IV Assessments.
To support senior colleagues and deputise for them in the event of annual leave or other leave entitlement.
To promote safe practice and professional conduct.
To effectively communicate with patients’ Consultants in person and by telephone in order to provide the best possible clinical care.
To oversee and take responsibility for individualised patient care, using the specific model and documentation for the department.
To provide specialist critical care nursing advice within the Units and other clinical areas within the Clinic.
To ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents, and also to includeany paper documents within the unit
To be flexible with regard to staffing, i.e. deputising for Senior Colleagues or assisting in other areas or on other floors as required.
To encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team (both inter- and intradepartmental) to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients and maintain a high morale amongst staff.
To provide professional leadership within the Unit and participate in the promotion of the department and the Clinic.
To promote research based practice, quality assurance and clinical audit where appropriate.
To participate as a member of the Clinic CPR Team after successful completion of the Adult Advanced Life Support Course.
