As a Registered General Nurse within our Healthcare team at HMP Grendon & Springhill, you'll be exposed to a whole new way of working. Nursing in prison is never dull or predictable. On any given day, you might find yourself working in A&E, drugs, mental health or health promotion. It’s this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences. HMP Grendon is a Category B secure conditions prison for male adults and HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison with a resettlement regime for male adults.
• Registered 1st Level RGN • Current NMC RegistrationTo be successful in the this role you will have:- • Demonstrable critical thinking skills in clinical decision making • Primary Care experience - ideally practice nurse experience and minor illness and injuries • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills • Experience of key-working and care planning • Demonstrable critical thinking skills in clinical decision making • Willing to undertake education/courses relevant to area of practice and service development • Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development • Understanding of clinical governance and its relevance to delivering Health Care in a Prison setting This is a Bank contract working shifts as and when required e.g. covering sickness, holiday etc. The hourly pay rate for this role is £16.06 - £23.20 per hour depending on experience plus Quarterly Holiday Pay.
