Description: Our client, a well-established acute hospital with a track record of high performance, now have fantastic opportunities for nurses to join an experienced team working on their highly regarded Surgical emergency ward. This represents an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop their nursing career in a busy but supportive environment.

They are offering an exciting opportunity to work in their team that will offer patients a dedicated emergency surgical service. They can offer the successful candidate a negotiable increase of their increment on agenda for change pay scales so long as the following can be demonstrated:

- At least 2 years qualified in an acute environment

- Evidence of leading shifts in their local area

- Evidence of professional development, including mentorship

The unit benefits from an established senior nurse team who can provide an exceptional level of support and guidance. You will be working together with the surgical staff in one of 3 areas; the surgical short stay ward, GP/ED assessment area and, coming soon, the surgical ambulatory care unit. This is a great time to become involved with this team as they proceed with developing the service and staff to provide excellent patient care.

You will assist the ward Sisters to deliver a high standard of Nursing care in an emergency setting, that will enable patients to have a more effective patient experience with a focus on care and compassionate nursing, reducing patients length of stay by providing a short stay ward for patients requiring emergency investigations, and potential surgical treatment before transferring them to an surgical ward or discharging them home again. This is a fast paced job and would suit someone with enthusiasm and willing.

Person Specification : You will be providing a high standard of individualised care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times their privacy and dignity. You will also assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.

You must be a registered nurse with an understanding of acute healthcare
