Care UK are looking for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join the healthcare team at HMP YOI Chelmsford. This role would be ideal for someone with a strong clinical/nursing background. HMP YOI Chelmsford is a category B male adult prison and young offenders institution.

About the Job
As the Deputy Head of Healthcare you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the prison. You will manage all service level agreements, ensuring performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of care are maintained. As the registered CQC Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with the essential standards of quality and safety. The Deputy Head of Healthcare will deputise for the Head of Healthcare in their absence and support them across the range of their duties. A full job description is available on request.
Registered Nurse (Adult) qualifications and experience are essential and you will be able to provide evidence of your leadership. You’ll have undertaken management training. (RMN or Nurse Prescriber qualifications and experience are desirable). You'll come from a strong clinical background and be able to provide evidence of leadership ability. An understanding of Primary Care issues and the Offender Health environment are highly desirable. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week and there will be a requirement of some on-call working so flexibility is a must for this position. The salary range is £38,000 - £42,500 per annum depending on experience. Care UK benefits include - 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays 10 days paid sick leave, 2 x life assurance and a company contributory pension scheme (2-5%).
