We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse for a learning disabilities service in Birmingham. As a Senior Staff Nurse you will be a key player in the multidisciplinary team with an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with brain injury.

You will be responsible for:

  • Medication management
  • Staff development
  • Clinical supervision
  • Appraisal and performance management
  • Managing positive behaviour and culture (ABC) within the service coordinate for individual service users through MDT and CPA processes
  • Contribute to the admissions and discharge planning processes
  • External and internal communications.

Our client is a nationwide provider of services to adults and adolescents with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs and they require a Staff Nurse for their independent hospital near West Heath in south Birmingham.

The hospital provides assessment and treatment for up to 30 men and women with autism including Asperger's syndrome, who are also living with a learning disability and complex needs. The service can also support people who may be detained under the Mental Health Act and those who present with behaviours perceived as challenging or with difficulties with social engagement.

You must have one of the following qualifications; RNLD, RMN or RNMH and have a full understanding of The Modernising Learning Disability Nurse Agenda.

  • Death in service (one-time annual salary)
  • CPD - Training includes: Leading & Managing in the Workplace, Maybo, Meds for Nurses in a care home, Clinical Supervision, Prader Willi Syndrome Management, RIVO Training, Root Cause Analysis, to name a few.
