RGN or RMN - Hospital Alcohol Liaison Nurse - Watford, Hertfordshire - Salary to £32,500 per annum plus benefits

My client are looking to recruit a skilled nurse (RGN or RMN) with a background in Alcohol Recovery Services to work in our fantastic new service in Central London. Our client is a national charity with a reputation for delivering excellence in services for people with drug and alcohol dependency issues. They have an excellent reputation in providing community based services for people with substance misuse issues with drugs and alcohol.

The role of the Hospital Alcohol Liaison Nurse (RGN or RMN) will be to work with the key aims of the service and reduce alcohol related hospital admissions, increase numbers accessing alcohol treatment at an earlier stage and reduce alcohol related harm.

The service will provide a wide of interventions including:

-Blood borne virus screening and vaccination
-Clinically assisted alcohol reduction plans
-Community detoxification
-Extended brief interventions
-Health and wellbeing checks
-Hospital alcohol liaison

The Hospital Alcohol Liaison Nurse (RGN or RMN) will:

-Be a first level registered Nurse (RGN or RMN)
-Possess an active UK nursing PIN
-Ideally have experience in substance misuse services, whether that be drugs, alcohol or both
-Have a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services
-Have knowledge of clinical prescribing issues
-Demonstrate knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
-Possess knowledge of the issues facing alcohol misusers including appropriate medical interventions, social care and health issues
