Fantastic job opening for Registered Nurse Ward Manager to work with one of the UK’s leading providers of independent specialist secure and step-down care across the UK.

As ward manager you will be working in highly reputed service within the Norfolk area. You will be a low secure managing a small size ward. The successful candidate will be offered an excellent salary of £41,849 per annum plus other great benefits.

Our Ward Manager role involves:

• Shifting/resourcing management

• Effective strategic resource management

• Leadership decisions within the context of Ward Manager

• Performance management of junior staff

• Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, governance and best-practice

• Discipline and grievance issues

• Serious incident reviews and implementation of recommendations

• Ward budget management: monitoring, evaluating and ensuring effective use of resources

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation

• Recognising the value of effective communication and the potential for developing therapeutic relationships, effective teamwork, interdisciplinary working and patient care

• Promoting a culture in which assessment, planning and review of care plans are delivered effectively within the broader responsibilities of the primary nurse

• Acting as a clinical supervisor and ensuring that all staff participate in clinical supervision


To be successful as Ward Manager, you will need:

• Experience of management and leadership and prioritising key tasks in relation to your sphere of work

• Demonstrable post registration experience

• Experience of working in a supervisory capacity

• Experience of secure environment and interdisciplinary teamwork

• Experience of assessing and teaching junior staff

• Experience of report writing and demonstrable skill of maintaining contemporaneous clinical notes

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
