Job Summary

Care UK been awarded a new contract for the delivery of Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) services across the West Midlands. This means that we will be delivering urgent care through NHS 111, utilising GPs and specialist clinicians to deliver the best possible urgent care services 24/7 365 days per year, to over 4 million patients in the West Midlands. To deliver this vision we wish to appoint a Patient and Stakeholder Engagement Lead with a clinical background, responsible for supporting the development and delivering an IUC Engagement Strategy across 111. The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering the IUC Engagement strategy across the OOH services within Warwickshire & Worcestershire, working closely with service leads. The ideal candidate will be a registered paramedic or nurse who has experience in project management and developing patient pathways.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create and lead on the development of patient networks with real opportunities to test, refine and evolve services to meet patient needs. 2. Develop and deliver the IUC Engagement Strategy, co-created with patients, commissioners and other stakeholders 3. Maintain strong on-going working relationships with external stakeholders including IUC partner organisations, OOH services across the region and specialist providers. 4. Work with wider business teams on the design, development and implementation plans for new integrated urgent care service pathways, extending the range of specialisms to include social services, and exploring the potential for palliative, paediatric or geriatric opportunities 5. Support the Head of Service to develop and maintain constructive relationships with Commissioners and other key stakeholders such as NHSE, ambulance services, OOH providers, SRG and Urgent Care working groups. This will include attendance at regional and other forums as part of the senior team for the West Midlands IUC service. 6. Ensure that stakeholder expectations are managed, performance and improvement initiatives are accurately reported and developments are progressed 7. Manage a small team, including Patient and Stakeholder coordinators for both Warwickshire and Worcestershire OOH services, ensuring consistency in our approach to patient and stakeholder developments 8. Ensure that incremental opportunities are identified and followed through, including the development of winter funding and pilot opportunities in conjunction with regional and integrated 111 & OOH team colleagues. 9. Monitor and share best practice developments in integrated urgent care patient engagement and patient pathways 10. Help establish and maintain Care UK as the first choice provider of primary care for the region, including participating in service development or bid opportunities – this may not be limited to in-region developments or bids, but may be influenced by workload.

• Extensive experience in healthcare • Facilitation skills, in particular the ability to work closely with people from a variety of backgrounds/professions • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and within a complex environment • Problem solving and conflict resolution • Project management experience, preferably within the PRINCE 2 framework • Computer literacy including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
