We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary outpatient team at Emersons Green Treatment Centre in Bristol. At Emersons Green treatment centre we only treat NHS patients and we’re focused on providing the best possible, personalised care to the people of Bristol, Bath, North and North East Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, as well as to the wider community, including Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We offer day case and in-patient surgery across the following areas: dental surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, minor orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, pain management, ophthalmology, and urology.
As a Senior Endoscopy Nurse you will be expected to act as a support to the Endoscopy Manager and Lead Nurse to ensure the effective management of the day to day activities within admissions, the procedure room and recovery area of the endoscopy unit. Key duties will include: • Taking responsibility for supporting the team with delivering a high standard of evidence based care reflecting current clinical practice • Being responsible for assisting in the delivering and maintaining of clinical governance initiatives as agreed with the Outpatient, Endoscopy and PEC manager • Taking responsibility for the safety of the patients attending the unit for treatment in the absence of the Endoscopy Lead • Being responsible for the correct procedures and protocols regarding the use of controlled drugs within the endoscopy unit
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have: • Substantial experience working within an endoscopy setting • Extensive post registration experience • Knowledge of GI diagnosis, treatment and health education • Experience of leading a team
