£32,000 for 2+ years nursing experience
Magnetic is working with a prison in South Wales to find experienced nurses to provide primary care and mental healthcare for patients with a wide range of conditions in a prison healthcare department similar to a walk-in centre, medical centre or A+E, where prisoners make appointments to see the doctor, nurse, dentist etc.
Full training will be given if you are new to prison healthcare, experience in this setting is not necessary, just the right attitude. New starters are often surprised at how relaxed and enjoyable working in a prison can be. This is an extremely varied role, no two days are the same, and offers nurses fantastic opportunities for training to enhance your CPD.
The RGN role is much like a Practice Nurse role, as it will involve providing primary care services such as health promotion, immunisations, asthma, smoking cessation, assessing people with a wide range of issues from acute illness or emergency care, to chronic illnesses, ensuring that documentation is completed i.e. GP notes, physical health monitoring forms and Physical Health Care Plans.
The RMN will be responsible for providing psychiatric care and treatment to patients suffering with mental issues such as depression, substance misuse, anxiety, suicidal ideation and self-harm, along with administering medication, managing patient care and maintaining accurate records in accordance with NMC codes of conduct. RNLDs will treat psychiatric problems and associated learning disabilities
