My client is seeking Admiral Nurse

The right person will be responsible for:

Offer expertise and guidance to families of people living with Dementia, professional colleagues, formal carers, and the general public using relationship –centred approaches and best practice in dementia care

Providing high quality nursing care for our residents

Continually promoting the people’s rights to privacy, dignity, choice, autonomy and safety

Providing professional leadership to enable safe and effective use of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other supporting safeguarding legislation.

Providing professional leadership to support high quality care planning and documentation

To participate in and make effective use of Dementia UK Clinical Supervision and Practice Development..

Assist with the development, evaluation and audit of this specialist area of practice and of the Admiral Nursing Service.

Responsible for the health and safety of you and anybody else who may be affected by your acts or omissions My client is one of the largest not for profit care providers in the UK, specialising in providing high quality, person-centred care in care homes and extra care housing nationwide.

You will be highly motivated, with current clinical therapeutic skills and able to work within the Admiral Nurses’ Competency Framework as defined by Dementia UK.

In return you will be supported by the client and Dementia UK and have the opportunity to work in partnership with employees to improve the lives and wellbeing of those living at the care home and others in the surrounding community.

Qualifications Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD)

Post registration qualification/

training in dementia and/or care

of older people with mental health needs


Post –registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia /older adults with mental health needs (as below)

Additional nursing qualification

Relevant teaching qualification

Mentorship Qualification

Degree/ Masters level qualification in Dementia / Older Persons Mental Health

Qualification in group / individual counselling skills
