Newton Mearns, Glasgow

Competitive Salary plus benefits

Are you experienced in supporting older people with complex care needs?

Are you an organised, methodical Nurse who is passionate about delivering positive change?

Then you can build a fast-moving nursing career with Care UK and help our residents get more out of life every day.

What you’ll do

Leading the nursing team, you will make certain that we fully meet residents’ medical, physical and emotional requirements. Ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will mentor and motivate colleagues, champion residents’ safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement, whilst acting as Named Nurse for your own portfolio of service users.

Where you’ll work

Wellmeadow Lodge care home is made up of ‘the lodge’, an older building that has been sensitively adapted to provide superb facilities, and ‘the house’, which is modern and purpose-designed to meet residents’ needs.

Areas of the home have recently had a makeover; there are new carpets and furniture in the shared areas and the shared bathrooms have been fully refurbished with the latest equipment for assisted bathing. In true Wellmeadow Lodge style, the residents got involved in many aspects of the changes, including choosing colour schemes and furnishings.

Comfort, space and lovely views

All residents’ rooms are large and comfortable, with en-suite facilities, stylish furniture, a 24-hour nurse call system and telephone and television connections. Some rooms look out onto our lovely gardens, while others have attractive views of the surrounding residential area.

There are several lounges and dining rooms at Wellmeadow Lodge, so there’s always enough space to relax. As well as an activity room, a television room and a quiet room, both the lodge and the house have their own hairdressing salon.

Our beautiful landscaped gardens are spacious and secluded. In the spring we have lots of beautiful snowdrops and daffodils. As well as patios, lawns and comfortable seating areas, the gardens include a summerhouse that opens as a tea room in summer.

Who you are

An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), you will be well versed in care planning processes and fully familiar with clinical assessment tools. You will be keen to develop your leadership skills and clinical knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.

Who we are

With 120 homes and day clubs across the UK, we provide expert respite, residential, nursing, dementia and end-of-life care for older people. Our highly personal, patient-centred approach has seen us enjoy rapid growth, with three new homes planned for next year, so we can offer wide-ranging career opportunities to people who care as deeply as we do.

What we offer

As one of our valued Clinical Leads you can benefit from both clinical and management training, enabling you to become a clinical lead, senior trainer or home manager.

You can also expect competitive salary, a choice of day, night or weekend shifts and comprehensive benefits including 25 days’ annual leave, a stakeholder pension and life assurance scheme, bank holiday enhancements, paid DBS check, child care vouchers, thousands of online and in-store discounts and free uniform.
