Clinical Unit Manager - Bloxwich, Walsall
£15.00 - £16.00 per hour - £33,280 per annum + paid breaks + benefits

My client is looking for a Clinical Unit Manager to head up a busy, thriving unit within the facility, reporting to the Home Manager you will have direct responsibility for the overall clinical performance of the nursing unit; working alongside the Home Manager your duties will include:

"Ensuring CQC/NMC policies and procedures are followed
"1-2-1 mentoring and staff development
"Addressing and providing any training needs
"Staff rotas and effective conflict management
"Coordinating all care staff within the unit
"Medication audits
"Care plan audits
"Providing clinical assistance when required
"Staff appraisals/disciplinary
"Skill mixing and recruitment

You will be heavily service focused, with the main aim to provide 5* elderly care across your portfolio and uphold clinical excellence, with a varied and skilled team of staff nurses and long standing care staff you will be given the tools to effectively manage a busy unit, you will be supported and assisted by a Clinical Services Manager, Home Manager, Clinical Trainer, Senior Staff Nurses and other Unit Managers on the site alongside an Area and Regional Manager.

The facility caters to the local community and also takes NHS inpatients who require nursing and dementia care, interim care is offering to provide relief to the local hospital and younger physically disabled adults are also cared for here, the site is varied so RGN's, RMN's and RNLD's are welcome to apply; newly qualified will also benefit from a university accredited preceptorship framework and ongoing support from clinical trainers and senior staff on site.

The appropriate candidate must be a Registered Nurse with an active NMC pin whether RGN/RMN or RNLD qualified. You will come from a care home background preferably with experience of working with elderly residents or dementia patients; for the role of Unit Manager you must be able to demonstrate some leaderships skills/qualities.

Experience of managing staff, building and developing strong teams alongside a strong service led approach whilst being extremely person centred is key.
